This final phase of construction brings your building to life. Properly installed doors and windows ensure usability, energy efficiency, and structural integrity. SNAP supplies door and window kits designed to integrate into pre-framed openings.
⚠️ Do not modify structural framing to fit openings. Always follow manufacturer specifications and use the provided framed openings in your construction drawings.
Walk Door Installation #
SNAP walk door kits are designed for swing-out use only.
Installation Steps: #
- Assemble door frame using included jambs and header. Secure with (4) ¼” x 1” stove bolts
- Position frame in the rough opening and plumb the hinge jamb
- Anchor jambs to foundation with expansion anchors
- Attach header to girt with #12 screws (1′ spacing)
- Hang door leaf and adjust for smooth swing
- Attach head and jamb trim
- Install lockset following included instructions
Overhead Door Installation #
Overhead doors require field framing and include jamb trim and optional header covers.
Key Notes: #
- Door framing must match size and location in construction drawings
- Attach jambs to end rafters with ½” x 1″ machine bolts
- Trim out door opening with MT116 cover trim and jamb trim
- Anchor jamb base to slab and secure top to girt
- Install door per manufacturer’s instructions

Window Installation #
Two types of windows may be used:
1. Framed Opening Windows #
These windows are installed prior to sheeting.
- Match window width to girt spacing
- Trim panels around the opening
- Install window using self-drilling screws and trim seals
- Caulk all sides to prevent air/water intrusion
2. Self-Mounted Window Kits #
These are installed after wall panels are up.
- No framing required
- Must be installed between panel ribs
- Set in place from interior side
- Use rubber gaskets or sealant to seal

Can I install a walk door anywhere on the wall?
No. Walk doors must be installed in the framed openings specified on your drawings.
Can I use spray foam insulation around doors and windows?
Yes, but only after panels are installed and all fasteners are sealed.
Do self-mounted windows need a frame?
No. They install directly into panel ribs after sheeting is complete.
